| Jamie
Kennedy is indisputably one of the Nation's most legendary and exhilarating
performance poets. He is an unstoppably energetic, redheaded motor
mouth who exploded onto The National Slam Poetry scene in 1999. With
a lightning wit gripped in his charismatic
fist, Jamie quickly accrued country-wide notoriety, and continues to stun
crowds with fearless physicality, verbal gymnastics, and his signature
and savage blend of chaotic hysteria and poignant humanity.
Among Jamie's remarkable creations is the wildly infamous vaudeville series,
"Tourettes Without Regrets." Jamie hosts this award-winning
subversive showcase and regularly features new vaudeville, freestyle battlers,
freak show performers, filmed pranks, and slam poetry. His swashbuckling
career also includes appearances on HBO (Def Poetry Jam), 60 Minutes,
and NPR, KALX, KPFA, and Stanford Radio. He has taught and performed spoken
word at more than 40 high schools, middle schools, and universities, and
was the coach of a Championship Oakland High School Speech Team that will
be featured in an upcoming
Lucasfilm documentary. Jamie Kennedy is one-third of The Suicide
Kings, a spoken word performance troupe, and an eternally lovesick
father to his daughter, Nadia. Honors, Awards, and Stagemates:
